Weddings at St Mary's
Your marriage day is very important; it is the beginning of your new life together as husband and wife, many couples have been married at St Mary's and the church remains a popular venue for weddings.
To arrange a wedding, simply come to the church on Wednesdays between 6pm and 6.30pm for the 'Parish Office'.
You can get married at St Mary's church if you live in Horden or if you have a connection with the church and parish (for example if you were born in Horden and members of your family still live here). If you are not sure if you have a connection with the church, it is easiest to come to the Parish Office to discuss this with the clergy. If you are divorced, unfortunately you are not able to be re-married at St Mary's church. This is the policy of the Parochial Church Council.
A first instalment of £50 is requested when booking a wedding at St Mary's, but the final balance is not required until the date of the rehearsal a few days prior to your wedding. The total cost of a wedding in church ranges from around £500 to £700 depending on your wishes - lower than most commercial venues!
The Horden Centennial Centre, next to the church, also provides an excellent and good-value venue for wedding receptions. Please see their website for further details: http://www.hordencentennialcentre.co.uk/
